EverQuest Franchise Holiday Contest!

I would have to say that I have 2 favorite places.
1. in Everquest 1 - my favorite place is the Ruins of Lxanvom (Crypt of Decay) My main class was a cleric because they were good healers and i liked to help out and they had holy spells which are good against undead, my favorite enemy in everquest. When mercs were introduced and the red skeleton mercenary came out i grabbed it as a way of showing control over them as well just for fun and some roleplay idea's

2. Everquest 2 - The Silent City, a place full of creatures especially undead and where my healer and others go to worshippers The Diety Anashti Sul's once they found out about her. Very interesting place that sometimes feels like a maze if you dont have an updated map.

There are a few other places to go for there beauty but Just to pick 2, there they are.

I was in the original beta test for Everquest way back in the day. Can remember my first run-in with a hill giant....was AMAZED! Look forward to new adventures once this is released!

The zone that I remember the most is FV. During long times, the Firiona Vie zone was my nightmare: when I have to go to lake of Ill Omen I ALWAYS had crossed the path of a see invis drachnid. I remember the long time for corpse run, the spam in ooc for begging a rez. with this post i wanna thanks all the clerics who rezzed me when I was a young one.

I only played EverQuest II. I started just a little after launch of the game and stuck with it for many years, still log in sometimes to play around lightly. I don't think anything can compare to my first days on noobie island as a Young Dark Elf Shadow Knight. I could not believe how beautiful and real everything looked and the movement and everything in the world of my first MMO blew me away. I was sucked in right away, harvesting rocks and killing beetles shells for copper to buy crafting fuels. I was fast hooked on crafting but it was really confusing then, but I struggled on to become the crafting goddess. The stories & lore, the armor, the crafting, the sound of the crafting tables, the music, always makes me smile. Then I soon met friends, was guilded, and had many great adventures. The first bite is always the best.

While LDoN was always a favorite part of EQ, since it's more than one zone, I'll have to pick Veksar. Veksar was the singular best, casual friendly zone. Loot there was well above that obtainable in comparable zones at the time. The XP was great, and there was a named mob around every corner, making it very exciting.
Lady Vox
# Dec 20 2013 at 2:03 PM Rating: Decent
Permafrost Lady Vox raids were my favorite when raiding 10 years or so ago. It took a good amount of people to take her down. Had a drood guildie who decided to bind in vox lair before we engaged her. Back then when you wiped (and I mean wiped) you had to run back naked.

We wiped and she started screaming in guild chat. Yes she was in a loop of death. She might have dropped 10 levels before we could get back, pull all bodies out of zone, regroup and kill Vox so she stopped getting killed.

My favorite area was Solusek's Eye in EQ2 by far. It really had to do with the feel of the place, the grandness and the attention to detail in the ambiance and overall atmosphere. Traveling down the glass pathways from Bastion of Flames to Oratorium of Thyr was so much fun, especially with the real danger of falling off to your certain death. I'm also very fond of Runnyeye in EQ2, but that's probably because I spent so much time there.
Favorite place.

In EQ2 I am particularly fond of the starting (baby) zones.. Dark light woods being one of my favorites. I'm an altahollic and Love love love making baby toons. it is common for me to make a toon.. play it up till level 30ish.. then start another new toon. I just love those first levels and like to try to do it better, or try out a different race or a different class.

Sadly my memory fails me for the name of my favorite place in EQ1.. but pi can still picture it in my head. It was a huge cavern with a few caves joining. I spent a lot of time camping that cave to level up. :)

I can say that I am really looking forward to exploring EQN. Bring it on! :)

I used to play EverQuest frontiers .My favorite location was Solesky eye.on your way to select few that I you have a lot of named mobs in lava storm mountain that have good drops. The castle runs was one of my favorite things to do.I miss it a lot , and am looking forward to the next instalment of eq to give me more favorite locations
I'm on a boat! ... Or not D:.
# Dec 20 2013 at 1:59 PM Rating: Decent
I recall having waited 15 minutes for that damn boat to show up and finally remembering to get on it, and not going AFK and returning to the computer just in time to watch it sail away. That I had actually fallen off the boat at one point and swam to this island.

Now, I kid you not, this island had these bird dudes on it and well, needless to say, they killed me. But when I asked a GM to help find my corpse since a necro couldn't. The GM was "unable" to locate my corpse and summoned a copy of it instead.

Never found the island again and kinda forgot about it.

My absolute favorite has to be the first Plane of Mischief, that you'd get to through Temple of Veeshan. It never felt finished, but what was there was some of the most creative things I'd yet encountered in EverQuest. An NPC named Life who death touches you when hailed? Com'n, awesome! Spent countless hours (days, weeks, more likely) collecting flowers and other items (I tried to complete the Twisted Druid armor set). Never got that amazing White Crown, or a non-broken blam stick =( .

I really enjoyed Nektropos Castle. The twisted floors and walls really lent the place a warped and chilling ambiance. Puzzling out how to work your way through the Castle was also an interesting challenge.

My favorite zone in Norrath has always been Kedge Keep. I want to see what they have planned for it in the next version of EQ and hope they do something cool with swimming/underwater combat. Some really good memories of that place.

Butcherblock Mountain in EQ2 was a lot of fun. Plenty of quests to run, collections to obtain and the odd juxtaposition of the old EQ BB and the new. Content continued to be added over the years, especially memorable were the jumping mounts !

Old EQ was great for raiding, many fond memories with the old guild especially in Solteris trying to break Commodus....

Heya, my favorite zone in everquest is the new Feerrott:, Feerrott the Dream. I can say it was MY second house. If you ask gorillas they will not said the same , in my opinion they have my head with a red circle on it. It was the zone where i got my first (s) achievement for 100, 5000 and 10000 gorillas.

OH man so many memories of wonderful places, I cannot choose only one!

Halas and the North, my first sight of Everquest back in the 90s, or Kelethin the amazing forest city, the music, watching people come and go near the elevators...

Or The Plains of Karana, sitting down in front of the last Inn before reaching the plains, watching the sun set...

Everquest is full of memories, I wish I can relive some of them soon!

This time of year I recall the bank in North Freeport (Xeg server). One of our guildmates had a pseudo-Santa character and would hand out gifts. First year we stayed within our guild but it wasn't long before we handed out gifts to everyone we could. We were never the most powerful or wealthy of guilds but we sure had fun. Long live Dragon's Claw, Xegony.

My all time favorite EQ zone would have to be vanilla Qeynos. All those years ago running around after launch, just being blown away by how beautiful everything was compared to my experience with EQ. I loved EQ and had unrealistic standards for it's successor but all of my worries melted away in the atmosphere of Qeynos.

Side note, loading screens with the original concept art and that damn amazing theme that still gets caught in my mind.

My favorite place and experience in EverQuest came while assembling a group of 5 players to make the run to the Plan of Mischief. I spent months saving money to buy a RES stick. Once I had the proper group of 2 monks a bard a rogue and a cleric we set off to the challenge ahead. It took us a few attempts but it was the most satisfying accomplishment of my EverQuest career to click on that small building that lead us to our dreams of the Plane of Mischief. I await challenges like this ahead in my Everquest Next adventures.

Surefall Glade
# Dec 20 2013 at 1:54 PM Rating: Decent
Saknussem the Dwarven Templar wed his fair Paladin love, Rabine in Surefall Glade among and amidst many hundreds of friends, guild members, and acquaintances (and even some wedding crashers!). THREE GMs came to our wedding (including Grog of early EQ fame) and they handed out prizes to the best cliff divers, and wedding cake to all comers! There were so many people at our wedding that we actually crashed Surefall Glade, LOL. That's what brought the second GM to the party. And the best part of this whole event? It was only a precursor to real life, because Lawrence married Susan about a year later. In Surefall Glade we were married under a cathedral of giant trees. In California, we were married in a grove of Redwoods.

There's two favorite locations of mine in EverQuest.

1) Shar Vahl. The city fit into a single zone, and had a nice little newbie yard at the bottom. But even better than that was how alive it was. Lorekeepers, guards, a small child who was lost, merchants who regularly went off-shift to visit the bank. It was unique compared to more static locations, such as Kelethan.

2) Dreadspire. It's a high end combat zone (for its expansion)! It's a city! It's both, in a way! There were so many little immersive elements to this zone. It's kinda hard to get that immersion in some areas of the content, but to be able to walk and talk amongst vampires so long as you didn't delve too deep into their shadows... it was great!

No zone tugs at this necromancers frayed soulstrings like the Citadel of Anguish. From its perpetually stormy skies, to its sacrificial tables, to its spiked decorations, Mata Muram's fortress has always felt home-y to me. I wish we could get a CoA house or Guild Hall in EverQuest - I would pay quite a lot of real money to own one.
Everquest II
# Dec 20 2013 at 1:52 PM Rating: Decent
I love the puzzle-like zones and dungeons in Everquest II like Nektropos Castle or Estate of the Unrest. No matter how many toons I have made over the years, those are my favorite places to explore once I am of level! Figuring out the access requirements, finding the secrets hidden around the zones, and the stories behind each zone is so fun! I also love the environment in Kylong Plains, the red/pink trees in the forest. The first time I was able to travel to and explore this area I was taken back by how beautiful the trees were, since I'm kind of a nature nut anyways. The PVP was always fun there as well. I love how they gave Darklight Wood the face-lift with the same color trees.
