November Expansion: Secrets of Faydwer

EverQuest: Secrets of Faydwer has been announced as the 14th expansion (due out in November). From the EverQuest website:



Rediscover Faydwer as you strive to thwart the plans of the evil gnomish necromancer, Meldrath the Malignant.

Meldrath takes his fortress Mechanotus to the skies on a mission of destruction exposing a network of mineshafts and tunnels that lead across the Steamfont Mountains to the unexplored lands of Faydwer.

Prepare for adventures with new friends and foes as you do batlle against angry clockwork machines and come face to face with the great dragon, Kerafyrm, who plots to end the world.

FEATURES:

Heroic items: Push yourself beyond your limits with Heroic Items that take your abilities beyond their maximum potential.

Level cap increase to level 80.

New Zones, Non Player Characters, and Interactive Objects.

New Alternate Advancement Abilities, Spells and Items.

before i came to everquest i was playing a game called earth and beyond,a game like this except it was a galaxy game with a whole lot of people playing. with all the complaining and bickering going on and taken the game for granted nobody saw what was happening just around the corner. earth and beyond went from an enormous multi player game to non existant. i miss that game and my terran warrior spaceship with all her nukes. people just enjoy the game.

I dont need level 80...i need aa's for a lvl 75 ...i need guilds that raid the lower lvls so i can get the requirements to enter higher lvls...and most of all i DONT need to be forced into a mandatory raiding guild to acquire upgrade equipment and augs...they have so screwed up the content of the game...well thank God it fishing season..../salute

....It doesen't really matter if Kerafyrm is successful in his plot to 'end the world'. The moon of Luclin is supposed to explode and destroy most of the world any day now, isn't it?

Well, I doubt that this idea will ever reach Sony, but here's a suggestion. Trying increasing the lower-level content. Sure, people love playing their mains and it is fun and nice to have new content for high lvls every once and a while, but they also creating new toons, I for one. But the last couple of expansions have been all high lvl content (60+)with the exception of TSS. I guarentee that you will get more interest with new things coming for low levels. Hehe go ahead and flame me if you want.

To all of the people whining and moaning about the level cap increase, the expansion's coming out in November. NOVEMBER. Not tomorrow. How about you get off your ***** and start leveling instead of whining? Maybe then you'll be 75 by the time the expansion hits.

Anyway, this expansion sounds great to me. Don't know how the hell they're planning to tie Kerafyrm into it, but all I know is I'm glad he's finally back. Good to know they didn't just let us wake him up and then forget he ever existed, y'know?

1. It matters not how many broken expansions are released, Sony will not grow its player base unless they fix what is already out.

2. By constantly segregating the player population into who has what expansion and who is high enough lvl to group in newer zones, the group aspect is getting harder and harder to maintain.

3. Absorption of content is a thing of the past unless you dedicate every minute you are not trying to maintain RL employment to the GAME.

4. As stated in a post below; motivations to achieve gear/augs/weps/spells to increase standing and ease of game play just to have it wiped out...again....again....etc...is getting much harder to muster.

5. I know of many casual players that have basically given up on the hopes of ever getting more than one of their toons to max lvl. That have purchased last 3 expansions and not been able to play more than 10% of the time in them.

6. Lastly, the entire tradeskill aspect of the game is being killed by the out of game economical influences. Baz prices are mostly laughable. And with new expansion gear more easy to obtain than in game plat, why become a GM!

what is the point in increasing the lvl cap already? and the point in having more than one expansion in a year? i mean, comeone....dont make more expansions...just fix all the **** thats wrong with the ones we already....and i do mean ALL...

This whole increasing levels SUCKS! YOU SUCK SONY! It took quite a long time to develop a lot of 70 content but they did it... It got to the point that almost anything you did with friends gave good exp-- nest, RSS, dod progressions-- and then they went to 75. This effectively nerfed a lot of the older group zones and instances. The result: a ton of peeps crammed into just a few high end zones-- like the old days when everyone was in velks or seb--or people getting bored and logging. And now 80? What a bunch of garbage-- this will effectively destroy all focus effects on anguish, bazu and demi gear-- why even bother? And we will have every tard crammed into the 3-4 new high end zones and everything else will give crappy exp. Maybe Sony could work on content and aas not just ***** out levels to try to force players to get an expansion. TBS was just a crappier version of LDON with 0 non-orum/doubloon content. LEVEL 80 BLOWS!

...Looks like they are testing out the new 'originality' AA, or the 'witty IQ' AA. 'Angry Clockwork machines' 'The great dragon, Karafrym...plots to end the world!!!' /lmfao....They really just need to shift the expansions into park, imo. For a very long time...let all us casual players catch up to all the expansions with equally lame lore and content that have so quickly been pumped out withn the last 2 years.

They have a habbit of letting little bits out a piece at a time when they have new expansions coming, sort of to wet our appetites.

Level 80 we all knew it was coming it's just a matter of time, with one expansion a year I wouldn't be at all suprised if it wasn't a level bump each time it would just be a choice on their part if we're going to go up 5 or 10 level caps a year.

Heroic items sound interesting but then so did the evolving ones who drove us to distraction when they spoke, now we have infusible one's and attunable ones too. It would be nice though if the infusable ones were perhaps able to be tributed if nothing else when you outgrow them, same with the ornate armor from PoP drops and some of the other no drop items. I know it would certainly make me feel better that I hadn't wasted my time getting them only to have to destroy them to make more bank room.

New spells and AA's, does that mean that those who have maxed out their AA's will now be able to spend some of them? Maybe you could take the cap off the AA's you're allowed to have, I'm not one of those but a couple of my friends have been unable to spend any for a while and that really hurts.

Funny things about levels.

I started playing when the max level was 60 and it seemed so far.

Now when 80 comes along, I will be down at the bar.

What's up with the "secrets of Faydwer" thing, this unforunally doesn't tell you anything. But everytimew I get close to the top level on a chactcter, the level cap increases. When I be the top level once? Altough, I'm {b} very {/b} happy their waiting a while to release this, still don't know how od it's going to be. Need to information to judge....
