Favorite Everquest Location

My favorite location has to be the Tower of Frozen Shadow in Everquest. This mix of undead and live mobs in a very linear dungeon with keys always appealed to my sense of dungeon crawling.

Each floor has a special key holder you have to kill in order to get to the next level. Each key holder will spawn immediately after killing a mob so there is a lot of excitement and danger. Each floor has its own flavor and around every corner could be your demise.

Once you meet the mistress of the dungeon T'Serrina you wonder if you might actually have gone too far in your adventures, but it's too late!

This is such a great dungeon for crawling and it has such a great story line and lore!

My favorite place in Everquest II is the New Frostfell Island. I love the jingling of bells and the cheery music inside that secret closet full of Frostfell delights. It brings my holiday spirit each and every year.
And this years Frostfell changes are simply awesome! I love the scenery this year with its Icy Sculptures and snow covered trees and bushes. It is full of the Frostfell spirit, thank you, thank you, for such magnificent changes for 2013. Happy Frostfell to ALL!
Qwynos and Fippy Darkpaw
# Dec 20 2013 at 1:50 PM Rating: Good
I still like Qeynos in EQ2, but i think my favorite was Qeynos and Fippy Darkpaw's endless and relentless running to the front gates. It was a hopeless endeavor yet he continued on. In Eq2 I like the EQ celbration and killing Fippy, but its his gnoll advisor sardonic maybe there is a better way... lol its funny and of course i spent my coin and bought a fippy plushie for my house.
Very tough to pick one but.

I'll go with a strange one. The fireplace by the chessboard in Stormhold. I always get nostalgic when I think of that spot. I got to know the guild I spent many years with, while standing in the fire place chatting and watching our crazy Warden pull slimes to the group.

My favorite...unexpected...place
# Dec 20 2013 at 1:47 PM Rating: Good
My favorite zone in EQ2 would have to be the haunted house instance during Nights of the Dead. The first year it was released I had a wonderful time finding my way through without any walkthroughs available. I even enjoyed the dancing with the ghosts part, even if it was frustrating at some points. Every year I ran every one of my characters through it at least once. It's one of my favorite EQ2 holidays and I always look forward to it.
Mischief Managed
# Dec 20 2013 at 1:46 PM Rating: Good
My favourite location in Norrath was the Plane of Mischief...which technically isn't in Norrath, but is part of the EverQuest franchise. Now, I'm pretty directionally challenged in game and out, but for some reason, I took to PoM like a fish takes to water - I could find my way around that place like it was nobody's business. Whereas I would get lost everwhere else, I was never lost in Mischief. EVER. It was like home. =)
Maj'Dul
# Dec 20 2013 at 1:40 PM Rating: Good
Apart from pretty much all of Rise of Kunark I would have to say Maj'Dul really did it for me. Especially the interiors and the music. The first time you flew a carpet up to the city was magical and I'm so sad they reduced that carpet ride in EQ2 to just a zone change. Also impressive is the feel of the npcs in town and how the quests for the Courts really give you a feel of medieval cut-throat politics. Not to forget the occasional snake in clickable baskets or hidden bandit that suddenly sprang out at you! Oh and the climbable walls and rooftops you could jump and run across. Very Aladdin!
thoughts, and likely ramblings!

I think in EverQuest 1 I would have to choose Froststone as my favorite place. Its located at the bottom of the Ry'Gorr infested Crystal Caverns, which I fairly well hate because dyeing there really sucked back before corpse summons(died at the queen spider named.. no access to a necro to summon me. yeah.), but the coldain village(fort? town?) at the bottom of that evil, evil mine had my FAVORITE song in EQ1. it had a Jamaican tune to it with drum beats and flutes of some kind. It was rather out of place on the icy continent of velious, but it was amazing. I actually would have listened to it out of game by finding the sound file if I had known its name.

Favorite place in EQ2 would likely have to be anywhere I could get a good view of the ruins of Luclin. To this day(5+ years later), I still hold out a hope that one day we'll eventually get to venture on to it. I personally feel its plausible because of how they worked out the floating chunks of odus, and I'd like to think that the Nexus being rebuilt(on odus and the one we enter in Ethernere) could bring it along.

Favorite person in EQ2 would have to be Queen Cristanos. the voiceover of fusion between authoritive queen and demonic entity makes for an awesome character. looks like she finally got her husband after all those years, eh?

after over a decade there is so much to choose from!
Favorite Place
# Dec 20 2013 at 1:37 PM Rating: Good
Home sweet home of course! I can build and sell armor, spells, food and drink and more! I can "decorate and furnish" if you want to describe a huge clutter as decorating. Plus I can have a home in each city, summer, winter, and occasionally break through a wall to build an outside environment.
Favorite Zones
# Dec 20 2013 at 1:35 PM Rating: Good
My favorite zone is probably Tenebrous Tangle. Second favorite would be Darklight Wood. Least favorite eoukd definitely be Nektolous Forest. It is just so hard yo navigate through.
Back in the days

My hubby and I started playing EQ2 with release in November 2008.
Our all time favorite zone was the Isle of Refuge. What a fun starter zone. We slayed goblins til we had the Slayer title. Upgraded our char's to the max and blasted those goblins in one hit with our "Templar" and Pally. Good ol' memories. I miss the Isle.

If I had to pick it would be Sinking Sands. I still recall the first time I took the carpet ride over the desert. Mad'Jul was such a colorful place though a bit scary given I took my first trip there really before I should have. To be honest each land comes with so much that makes each special be it either the creature encounters or just getting wrapped up in the beauty of the scenery. I have to say that intertwined with all my fondest memories in each of these lands is the community in Everquest 2. I have always been impressed with how willing so many are to lend a helping hand in answering a question, or helping someone complete some goal they are having trouble with. I have played many other mmo's and honestly I stay with this one because of the people that support it, its community.
The place to hang out...
# Dec 20 2013 at 1:20 PM Rating: Good
How to pick just one. I think my favorite place has to be Shard's Landing. it has a range of content just in its self. if you like, it has all kinds of different skill level adventures just a jump away. you can grind AA's, hang out with friends in a group. or if you like, just run around and solo. all in all it is my favorite place.

One of my favorite places is Undershore in Everquest. I do like the model of the mobs but the reason I enjoy it so much is because of the fun I had with friends there. There was a mage named Kathiana that I played with and she seemed to always be there fishing or something. She would always let us come group with her and it eventually earned the nickname Kath's Undies because of the time she spent there.

It was so much fun just grouping with her and the others that joined us regularly. I know we went to other zones but Kath's Undies will always stay with me.
Favorite place... so far!

I'm still pretty new to Norrath. I've only been playing EQ2 for a few months (after starting my account last year), and dabbled with EQ1 during the summer of 2004. As such, I still have a lot to discover!

I think my favorite zone to date is Vesspyr Isles. While my adventure level is way too low experience the zone in full, my provisioning has taken me there to do tradeskill quests, which have been a ton of fun. The zone itself is beautiful. It's very otherworldly.

It is so hard to pick one but if I "had" to it would definitely be Unrest in Everquest 1. Just traveling to Unrest was a blast. As a Dark Elf it was an adventure in itself. I remember bumming and invis to get on the boat just because I wanted to not skimp on the experience of the travel. Riding the boat, jumping off at the recommendation of a friend on the boat so the dwarves wouldn't kill me, and then following a winding path to the cauldron. Once I entered, I was welcomed with shouts of trains and people looking for others in certain camping areas. This was really the first place I was working hard to get into groups and certain camps. I really hope to see the future of the franchise to bring that value of character (self) worth and fellowship amongst other players.

I have to go with Kelethin. I had been playing UO for months before EQ came out, and the first time I saw the mists in the trees rolling in and out, I was amazed. Even now when I think about it it gives me goosebumps :D
Best experience EVER!

Back in my old Everquest days, when my Shadowknight - Greythanos - was learning the dark arts of Fear Kiting, the Dreadlands were where I met my guild, Infinite Vision. I made friends with a Human Magician named Biguss who turned out to actually be in the same Technical School as me! Everquest was my first taste of MMORPG greatness, and Biguss actually got me so addicted, I ended up becoming one of the top geared SK's on the server for a good period of time. We camped outside of Karnors castle, spending hours at home, and hours in class talking strategy and how we can level faster. I can still remember pull-routes and camping spots. I miss those days. We are all (Biguss and about a dozen others) eagerly awaiting Everquest Next!!!!!
Original Lavastorm

I loved the ambience of the original Lavastorm in EverQuest, pre-DoN.

There was simply so much pent up tension in the place, with all of those pools of lava, fluttering drakes and ominous music. The fact that is was also a hub of so many dangerous places just made the anticipation all that more potent.

My favorite location in Norrath is the Kelethin area in Greater Faydark, the original EverQuest version. My first character started there. So many memories, falling to my death the first time I ventured out, battling orcs on orc hill and getting overwhelmed; escaping to the orc lift barely alive hoping the guards would save me! I lost many hours if not days to that zone and I wouldn't have it any other way! Great zone, awesome atmosphere, amazing music.
Kylong Plains
# Dec 20 2013 at 1:12 PM Rating: Good
I would have to say, Kylong Plains in Everquest 2. Kunark was and still is my favorite EQ2 expansion. When first stepping onto the docks, Kylong Plains just seemed massive, full of intrigue and excitement. I remember going up the mountainside path that leads to Teren's Grasp, as the environment changed and morphed into something completely different. It captured my imagination and and generated excitement. The zone had so many diverse dimensions and areas, and holds great memories for me in EQ2.

I have several favourites most of them nostalgia for when I first started playing the game -- the gates of Qeynos, where, as a newbie Monk I would sit and heal up while watching the activities of the newbie yard filled with other newbies or lowbie alts. It's also a great place to watch sunrise over Norrath. It's a pity as a starting city hardly anyone is there any more.

Blackburrow because that's where I learned to pull and group and at one time, knew the place like the back of my hand.

Shar Vahl -- there's just something so...rustic yet majestic at the same time about the place. I always feel alone in a crowd while there, but not in a bad way.

The "secret" trainers room in Shadowhaven. It's just one of the oddball cool things that always made EQ special to me. Of course, Shandling's Roost take honourable mention here.

Highpass Hold and Highpass Keep -- whoever designed these two zones got it right. It's like you get the vibe of a far flung well-fortified outpost holding back the wilds and controlling a trade/invasion route. I love the little bar by the waterfall -- it's a favourite "get away from it all" spot.

Ultimately, there are too many to list, but these are a few favourites.

I think the city of Neriak in Everquest II is my favorite place I have visited so far in the Everquest franchise. It is appropriately spooky enough to be a city of the dead, while at the same time being a good base of operations for my character. I did my first explorations with crafting in this city, and became a fan of the game's crafting system as a result. You can make so many great items!
Picking Just One?
# Dec 20 2013 at 12:57 PM Rating: Good
It's so hard to pick just one favorite location. In EverQuest 2 it would probably be the Estate of Unrest dungeon. I just absolutely love the entire script of the zone, and walking down that final hallway for the first time sent shivers down my spine (literally). In EverQuest my favorite location is Cabilis. I used to spend hours just wandering around there and it's where I met some of my best friends for the first time. I can't wait to see what Landmark adds.
