Let me express what many of you are feeling right now: Arrrrrrrrrgh! Let me in! Let me in! I want my Kitty! *breathe* OK. According to Sony, they are aware of the problems and are working on them, including bringing on more patching servers. Why they didn't think of this before, since this is almost identical to what happened at the original release is beyond me, but I'm sure they want you to play their game as much as you want to play it. Feel free to use this forum to try to help each other get into the game or to just console each other while you wait.

A class action suit has been started today against Sony / Verant. If you are a player and purchased the SOL expansion and were not able to log in today, you can join the suit and possibly get reimbursed for the cost of the expansion and this month's monthly fees. All of the current 400,000 plus subscribers are invited to join.

This is ridiculous, Sony/Verant should be ashamed of themselves for this almighty balls-up. After all this we should at least get something back from them to replace our lost game time... but will they do that? Will they ****!

Its worth the wait if you can stand it. Characters look great. Most of the monster look pretty much the same. Been playing for a few hours now.

I wish people would read the posts, before posting. There's links to help with Graphics card problems, and patching problems. They may not help for all, but some I've seen, I KNOW they will help.

Im gettind tired of trying to get this patch server to run properly and finish so I can go back to Norrath. I loved it the way it was before and I miss the game already. :c( BTW, does SOL stand for "Servers Off-Line?"

Here's my theory...

Unless you have an nVidia GEFORCE video card, it ain't gonna work...

Don't you think it's a LITTLE strange that nVIDIA released it's brand new drivers the same day of Luclin's release?

And that the GEFORCE is the "Example" used in all of Sony's Minimum Specs info?

Thoughts anyone?

I have a Intel(r) 82810E Graphics Controller. I just have a bad fealling that this card will not work. Please let me know if this card is obsolete.

Over 400,000 people play this game on a regular basis. Having ALL of the servers down for over 24 hours straight has cut into the primary play time of people EVERYWHERE ON THE PLANET. People outside of the United States are still waiting for their copies of EQ: SOL to even ship. It doesn't matter if you ran yourself ragged to find a copy of EQ: SOL, or if you just decided to wait a couple weeks for the fury to die down; either way, you haven't been able to log on and play for over a day now, and most people apparently still can't log on.

Now, I understand that sometimes things don't run smoothly for a business project, but when things run as poorly as this, you have to do *something* to take care of your customers. Something more than "We're sorry for the delay, we've had some problems with the Luclin launch. Thank you for your patience.". Frankly, I don't have any patience left right now. I used all my patience up when I couldn't play AT ALL on my day off Monday. So naturally, after losing sleep to get up early and race to the software store to buy the next-to-last copy of EQ: SOL, only to find that I can't even log on to the patch server (much less play the old, pre-Luclin EQ) due to poor planning, my patience is completely GONE.

Everyone knows what the worst part is, too... this time next week, we'll all be bouncing around on the moon, having completely forgotten this HORRIBLE software launch. However, that doesn't change the way I feel right now...

COMPLETELY LET DOWN.

ARGH I don't want to be a beast master either, is it too much to ask to be able to play the same gosh darn game I've been playing for the last year and a half, it's not bad enough being subjected to Verant's off the wall patches continuously throughout the year, now I have to put up with a a "better" patcher that moves yet gives me the message "Failed to load EQGfx_Dx8.DLL" I thought I set my computer settings to english dammit!!! If I want this much hassle, I'll hook up with my next girlfriend...Yes this is just a game, but it's pretty darn irritating paying someone to do a half ***** job, and not being able to find any cust service. Anyways enough of my rant, if anyone has any suggestions as to what this may mean, or what I can do, please post. Thanks

If i was you, I would give your ex-girlfriend a call. She should be able to decifer it for ya. And when she does, post it cause i'm getting the same error message.

anyone need a quick fix heres two things watch it on the second one you will be liable to lose brain sells on it... yes he's for real and it does take a REAL long time loading

Video Problem

Sorry for those that haven't got in yet.

But I am in and i am having video problems.
I have a Voodoo Banshee 16mb video card. When i get in the text all has black around it. My buffs are solid black squars. When i hold down right click on a spell or item it just shows black square in the text box.

Does anyone have any ideas of how to fix.

I tried to find new drives from the 3dfx site. I tried the delete the eqdevice file suggested by EQ page.

I would appreaciate any help.

I'm in the same boat ; Banshee ; with black blocks of doom. tree's in original eq look whack.

out card is not supported ; was playing perfectly 2 days ago ; bought SoL ; little did I know the game was going to cost me 187.00 instead of just 37.00 cnd. i am simply not happy atm.

i fear beer won't even solve this problem. *)
