Let me express what many of you are feeling right now: Arrrrrrrrrgh! Let me in! Let me in! I want my Kitty! *breathe* OK. According to Sony, they are aware of the problems and are working on them, including bringing on more patching servers. Why they didn't think of this before, since this is almost identical to what happened at the original release is beyond me, but I'm sure they want you to play their game as much as you want to play it. Feel free to use this forum to try to help each other get into the game or to just console each other while you wait.

Heheh W00t!, finally got in (still got no Luclin because we n Autralia got boned again)

First impressions in first 5 mins of changes =)

The new Skellie animation looks like its been ripped out of an old Sega game, and Omg you should see them run its even worse P

The new new Wolf Form looks kinda cool, but when you run it looks like you've been lamed Lol

AND NO BARD SONGS WORK AT ALL!

We waited all that time for crap like this?, jeez I want my money back /

I just got in! I think i'll see if I can make a beastlor... You must upgrade to luclin to be a beastlord. oh well i get on my main and get stuff for my beastlord when i get SoL.... why is my screen black... mabey its just really dark out. I think ill check my invetory... wow i can /invetory off ACK! its black again...... hmmm and why is everything outlined in black....

I have scrimped and saved for a horse and now i have 25kpp and no chance to get on becuase the servers were down a whole day past the schedualed up time and now I sit at work calling my wife every hour to see if its on yet... GRRRRRR. This is not cool they knew this would happen. As always they knew we would complain but as soon as its up we will have forgoten about the down time .... But wait ... what about all the emergency patches that ruined the game during the 1st months of SoV??? Remember?
Almost every night that little white message would come on saying that the servers would be down for 6 hours that turned into 10 somehow...sigh :( It is a bad cycle and trust me we will see it again... If we dont then "kudos" to verant.. (murphy's law)

Have fun with the cats. Hopefully I'll be there tommorw. :)

Me again, got it to finish with its checking for files and now its downloading Najena. I don't dare touch it but it says i have 17 hours left of downloading. If anyone else has had the problem of your patch trying to download the whole game (and its not going to a different location) please post any solutions you might have for the problem :o)

Not only do I not get SoL until the 14th here in Australia, but I'm forced to download some stupid patch every damn day I play now. It wouldn't be so bad if it would actually DOWNLOAD! But no, it hangs, crashes, or downloads files that ***** up your system (Gequip3). Thanks a lot for working all this out really well, Verant. Good work. Don't you think that 400,000 players, who shovel money your way each month deserve better? How would you like it if we all just told you to shove it, thanks to bad service, lack of patch servers and constant downtime?
Here's a suggestion. Include all this patch crap on the CD's, and make it so that only those that have SoL need to patch SoL files. Get more bandwidth and patch servers. PUT OUR $$ TO USE!

Hey, I found a bug with their new patcher!

It says I have 8:00 (eight minutes) to go on the download, and it gives an ETA of 7:59 cst (i.e., it's adding the *minutes* left to the *hours* value of my clock).

Think I should email it to them? I'm sure they'll wanna fix it *right away*... ROFL

I've looked and looked... what is their support phone number? Their patch program has corrupted my registry (XCOM entries)... norton recognizes the corruption but can't fix...

After about 1 hour of trying to get to patch server I got on. I was so excited. My characters came up. I was jumping up and down for joy. Then I decided to go into my inventory. What a big mistake. All of a sudden I thought I flashed back into the 70's with my screen having a strobe light effect. It was not pretty. I have yet to figure out the problem. I figured to update my driver for my video card but ran into major problem. I downloaded and installed my driver and restarted my computer. Bam I hit a brick wall...For some odd reason it would not find anything to support the driver. If anyone can help PLease.

ok, i got all the patches to work and when i go to hit play, i can tell it tries, but then it tells me that no 3D devices were found and i get kicked off. I have a geforce 2 MX200 3D accelerator and i know it works..heck i played Dark Age. so i went to the website for NVIDEA and downloaded the most recent drivers, and it STILL doesnt work. Anyone have any ideas for me please??

I've read on the sony site that when you get that message, no 3D devices detected, you need to upgrade from DX8.0a to DX8.1

eq is its devine brilliance has done what everyone knew they would they rushed sol out to make it to markets before christmas without the testing needed for it to work for the general public. and forget about customer service they did away with the toll free line because people were miss using it. what a joke. try calling in tonight for assistance its long distance for 99% of us and if you do happen to get a ring in how long will you be left on hold and how many cuss words will you get out before they hang up on you? i hate eq customer service or lack of it

Sony and VI knew the problems that were going to arise, they have had 2 previous expansions with similar, yet slightly smaller situations, though EQ is now bigger than ever. They failed to forsee that a bigger expansion with more features in a game with more players than any other of it's kind was going to have problems? No, they knew these problems were going to arise, they just failed to act on them in a timely and effective manner. They are so wrapped up in making the newest and hottest thing, that they forget to work on the problems at-hand. This type of behavior has led to more than 1 major commercial catastrophe and may well do so again. Get on the ball Sony/VI, we know you can do it, we just hope you have enough respect for your hard-working customers to do it.

totally agree with you. there were problems with it even before today that should of been addressed. everyone that i know has been expirencing excessive lag and linkdeaditis ever since they started the patching for it last week. that denoted part of the problem that we are expirencing now

yeah, i played daoc for about a month, then i got tired of falling through the world and playing a game that's not near as fun as eq. now, i've seen the error of my ways and only play eq =)
