I got home excited to play and well I get the patch program saying the servers arn't totally up why couldn't they just let me downloaded the needed files... now I have nothing to do and my char needs some lvl and pling for lost time I wish they would just learn how to use there servers proberly and let everyone on or atleast update...

Being the impatient dork, when all this started I thought I fouled a file or something repetitively trying to log in.. so beeing the putz I reinstalled EQ, and thus I have to repatch from the old patcher.

Something about all this that makes me think my Iksar Sk isn't nearly as psychopathicially sadistic as the people in charge of this expansion/patch thing.

ever notice how everytime we pony up the cash for a "new" expansion pack, we get screwed by verant for days on end while they're laughing all the way to the bank. Now they have a new excuse for their poor coding as well, "underpowered pc". just what i needed to hear

Yeah we got the same problem all around, we get like75% of our patch done after trying like a thousand times, then BAM, it FREEZES! WTF?! Ok Im not gonna go and whine like everyone, but it does suck. Try another online game for a little while, let Verant fix there mess up because I think we have already established that they are slow @$$ idiots.

Well everyone, i would just like to say everquest is a great game. im really pumped about SOL, and just think about how long you have waited so far...what is another day or so? every big project can and will have its BIG problems...this is not even that big a deal. im just glad to know its not just me, that would be a big deal. you all know you will be online in a few days, maybe a week or so, and youll be thankful to Verant for their yet again best... lets all just take this time to chill and get a break from our not so real-life lives. for me, time with the GF, and gettin in trouble with my family, but hey, it will be nice to get back on eq. we all know this, and go ahead and complain all you want, just like going LD, it happens to us all. see you all online...

after 3 reboots and endless clicking cnt+alt+del i got it to finally get it, the program just sucks =/ crashes easy on some files and there are something like 25 million people trying to DL the same exact file, so restarting hte patcher everynow and then when it gets stuck on a file or rebooting can fix the problem, GL

I'm so glad this site is here. I have tried unsuccessfully to patch Luclin about 20 times. I tried to find out from the EQ website if the game was up and running with no luck..If not for this site, I probably would have spent all nite thinking it was my fault.
Verant customer service blows!!! I got more info on the launch from Allakhazam:)

To determine what version of DirectX is currently installed on your system:

1. Click on start;
2. Go up to the run box.
3. In the Run window, type DXDIAG than hit ok. This will launch the DirectX diagnostics tool.

So, would any of you truly visit your Sony store or department store to buy electronics for Christmas? They would be guaranteed to be true to the Sony name, AND NOT WORK WHEN YOU FIRST TURN THEM ON!!!!

I can't believe that Sony would allow these ongoing patch problems, knowing that it's their brand name that's out there getting all this negative attention.

Let's see....my TV is Hitachi, my stereo is Samsung, etc etc. Not a single damn Sony product in this house (and beyond EQ, there never will be). How's that for positive advertising, Sony?

Well if the last two expansions were this much trouble why didn't they learn and make this one easier? Why not at least have truthful messages if the logins are screwed up. And why have a patcher that just hangs, but that interfered with running it again? Bah, humbug, what a vast contempt for all their paying customers. I know they want to sell their new game, but we're paying to play the old one too, and can't even do that.
