A: All the original content, as many of the patches as are complete by the time we ship out the master copy, Shrouded Isles, the Shrouded Isles engine (not the original engine – the system specs printed on the Gold Edition box reflect that), the housing zones, a really nifty "newbie guide" that actually helps newbies, and more.

With the Gold Version, will laptops be more easily supported? I have a Trident Video Accelerator CyberBlade-XPv6.4022-003L.69 video card. I've looked to see if it is supported, and it doesn't seem so. Help, someone?

Foundations? Eek. I did not even know about that one. The latest one my friends have is Shrouded Isle, was foundations before that? As long as they have Shrouded it will be OK? I wish I knew more about this stuff. Thanx 4 your time.

Foundations is curently in Beta, it's the housing expansion that will be a free download for everyone. It's been said that it will go live sometime in June, that is all I know as far as it's status.

Upside to getting the Foundations expansion on the Gold disk is you save yourself a hefty download. Though it looks like Mythic is working on several means to get the expansion distributed by other means to help out dial-up users. I know the June/July Computer Gaming World magazine has the Foundations expansion on it. Folks can get that and install it, but unless they are in the current beta they can not access the housing zones yet.

I have a question about compatibility. Will players who get the Gold version be able to interact with those who have the original and Shrouded Isles? I was going to start playing, but am unsure as to whether I will be able to play with my friends(who have the original+the expansion).

You will be fine with the Gold version, no problems playing with your friends at all. All the Gold version is, is a bundled pack of the Original DAoC and the two expansions Shrouded Isles and Foundations.
