Global Agenda Closed Beta to Begin in July

The Global Agenda team has posted some information on the game's upcoming beta schedule, and it looks like the first phase is set to begin in July. The closed alpha phase is almost done, which has "focused primarily on validating core combat and game mechanics with a relatively small player population."

Invitations for the first beta phase will be sent out in late June and early July. Players who participated in the alpha test will get first priority, followed by players who registered early. Testers will be invited in several waves over the course of the beta.

For more information, including how to check the status of your application, check out the full beta Q&A below.

The following Q&A was published today inside the Global Agenda Answer Center here.

What is the current state of testing for Global Agenda?

Global Agenda is nearing the completion of its Closed Alpha phase, which has focused primarily on validating core combat and game mechanics with a relatively small player population.

What is the Next Phase of Testing after Alpha?

Following the closure of the Global Agenda Alpha program, the game will progress through a series of phased tests that we are labeling as Closed Beta Testing (CBT).   Each phase will expose additional features for testing and also increase the number of beta testers admitted.

Ok. Great. When does Closed Beta Begin?

Closed Beta Testing Phase 1 (CBT-1)  is expected to begin in July.

When and how will I know if I made it into Beta?

Invitations for CBT-1 will be sent over a series of weeks in late June and early July, with the first wave of invites being sent to those players that participated in the Alpha Testing program. If you receive a Beta invitation, you will need to re-confirm your availability and willingness to participate prior to being formally admitted into CBT-1. Your invitation will include instructions on how to confirm, and the due date by which you must confirm. Once confirmed, you will receive additional details regarding the program and how and when to get started testing.

How many people will get into Beta and how will you pick them?

Closed Beta Phase 1 will have a relatively modest number of players admitted into it, so the majority of persons that have applied for beta will not be admitted in this first phase. Players should expect that new players will be admitted during several "waves" over the course of the Beta phase, in order to support the test objectives of each phase. So players should not be overly concerned if they are not immediately accepted into the Beta program once the program begins, as they may still have the opportunity to enter either the Closed Beta or Open Beta program at a later date.

Beta applications will be evaluated for admittance based on a number of factors, including how many new testing slots are available for that phase, when the player registered (preference given to those that registered early), whether or not the player has a special referral code,  the players’ PC system specifications, previous testing experience and general demographic and geographic considerations. Hi-Rez attempts to be as fair as possible in giving access to the Closed Beta program, but in general it is likely that there will be more applications for players to enter our Closed Beta than there will be available slots, so we regret that not everyone will be able to participate. (We do expect to have an Open Beta phase, however, so stay tuned!).

Specific referral codes are prioritized based on a number of factors, with those codes generated for Official Contest Winners (such as the Fan Video and Fan Site contests) having highest priority, and other codes having a priority based on their initial source and number and demographics of players using that code. Not everyone with a referral code will be admitted into the first phase of Closed Beta.

How Can I Check the Status of My Application?

Players will receive an e-mail invitation from Hi-Rez Studios once their Beta application is accepted.

In addition, all players that have registered for Beta have a login to the MY ACCOUNT section of the official Global Agenda Community Website at http://account.globalagendagame.com/GAregister/default.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2fGAregister%2faccount%2fmanage.aspx.

From the My Account page, players can update some information on their account, as well as see their current status. If you have been accepted into the Early Testing program, you can also view your Welcome Kit information at this site.

The following statuses apply to most players:

PENDING - Your application has been received and initially reviewed by Hi-Rez. You are under consideration for Beta but have not been admitted into the program.
DEFERRED - This is really identical to PENDING but is used to identify players that registered under an earlier registration system (for purely internal operational reasons).
INVITE SENT - An invite has been sent, but the player has not yet confirmed their willingness to participate.
APPROVED - Player has confirmed their invite and has been accepted into the program.
INACTIVE - Player has received an invitation, but declined it.
