ZAM's 2010 Holiday In-Game Events Roundup

We've compiled a list of the holiday events that are being held in your favorite MMOs. Happy gaming!

It's almost time! The halls are decked, the stockings hung with care, and you've probably got some time off from work or school. It's the perfect time to get in some extra gaming, and why wouldn't you? Almost every MMO is running an in-game holiday event. With all the new zones, special items and festive quests, it's pretty much a digital winter wonderland. So to make things a little easier, we've compiled a list of in-game holiday events to help you narrow down which game to play!

Sony Online Entertainment is offering an array of events, including:

  • EverQuest's Frostfell 2010: Feasts, fireworks and gift exchanges are just the beginning. Participate in Operation: Jolliness and Gathering Holiday Cheer to get Santug Claugg to feel like his old self again. There is also an array of New Year's adventures as well! Frostfell is happening now through January 8, 2011.
  • EverQuest II's Frostfell: Journey to the Wonderland Village just through the magic closet (found in any of the cities) to participate in the myriad of holiday-themed quests. Frostfell is happening now through January 6, 2011.
  • Star Wars Galaxies' Wookiee Life Day: Celebrate a day of joy and harmony as promised by the Tree of Life. Storytellers will be placing Trees of Life for all to see, new decorative paintings will be available as well as a new unique ornament. If you're a Wookiee, don't forget about your Life Day robe. With lots of new quests and content, this year's Life Day promises to be the best yet! Life Day is currently going on in-game through January 11, 2011.
  • Free Realms' Snow Days: The decorations are up and presents are under the Gifting Tree. The Abominable Snowman and his henchmen are after those presents and it's your job to save them. Lots of quests and festive outfits ensure that you shouldn't sleep in during these Snow Days. The event will be held through January 19, 2011.
  • Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures' Life Day: Check out all of the Life Day outfits, housing decorations, and accessories for your Droids to help you get into the holiday spirit. Log in to celebrate Life Day today!
  • SOE Raising Funds for Charity: Don't forget while you're playing that Sony Online Entertainment is selling select in-game items to support the Child's Play charity. All donations go toward purchasing age-appropriate toys and games for children in hospitals. Check out the list of items available for purchasing by clicking the above link. Sales end December 31.

NCsoft is also spreading the holiday cheer by hosting the following in-game events:

  • Aion's Solorius Holiday Festival and New Year Event: Enjoy the annual holiday of Solorius with dyes, candy, and the ever popular silly hats. All you have to do to get them is give the event staff a helping hand tracking down the Solorius socks and making sure their volunteers get rewarded. Solorius is going on now through January 5, 2011. Also, the New Year Event just kicked off and will run through January 12, 2011.
  • Guild Wars' Wintersday: Players can enjoy holiday decorations, special Wintersday treats, PvP snowball fights and all sorts of quests and missions as gods and goddesses fight for control of Wintersday. Winterday is going on now through January 3, 2011.
  • Lineage Holiday Event: All the good boys and girls of Aden will see their world decked out in Holiday decorations! If you've made it to the "nice" list, then be sure to keep an eye out for presents delivered in the form of stockings. Also enjoy true double drops on all creatures. The Holiday Event is happening now through January 5, 2011.
  • Lineage II's Wintermelon Woes: Puss the Cat accidentally ordered a lifetime supply of wintermelons in preparation for Christmas, and it's up to adventurers to smash every one in the land. Enjoy growing melons to smash now through December 28.
  • City of Heroes' Winter Event: Players will be able to help stop Lady Winter's plot to freeze the world or visit the Ski Chalet and race to win prizes. Players can also unlock snowflake emotes and winter-themed costume pieces, and also earn special badges. Enjoy all the festivities now through January 2, 2011.

There's even more festive fun from your favorite MMOs!

  • World of Warcraft's Feast of Winter Veil: This holiday can be celebrated by Alliance in Ironforge and by Horde in Orgrimmar. Seasonal decorations such as holiday trees, wreaths and lights can be found in all major cities and at most zone inns. Don't forget to open your presents from Greatfather Winter starting Dec. 25! Check out Wowhead's guide for all the details on the event. Winter Veil is going on now through January 2, 2011.
  • Lord of the Rings Online's Yule Festival: Players will be able to enjoy all sorts of festivities in the new Winter-home region, including new quests, a theatre event, mini-games and more! The Yule Festival is currently taking place in-game. Also, we're still giving the gift of 250 Turbine Points for Lord of the Rings Online to ZAM premium users! Be sure to grab your code!
  • Dungeons & Dragons Online's Festivult: It’s Festivult and the city of Stormreach is brimming with exciting activities throughout the month-long celebration. Check out new quests, content, and great deals every day at the DDO Store. Festivult is going on now through January 2, 2011.
  • Warhammer's Keg End: This holiday event is filled with everything a dwarf could ask for: beer, boasting and things that explode! Players are treated to new items, monsters, events and challenges to master. The blood, mud and beer will be flowing now through January 4, 2011.
  • Dark Age of Camelot's Midwinter Festival: Sharpen your blades and prepare for travel to obtain Christmas goodies to decorate your home for the holidays. Midwinter is going on now until January 14, 2011.
  • Age of Conan's Bloody Solstice: This year's all-new Winter event includes two new solo quests and one new group quest. Players can also look forward to some nifty new seasonal items including the Aesir Snowcatcher, Pillaged Mercenary Plate, Drinking Horn, and your very own Vanir Captive. Bloody Solstice is happening now through January 3, 2011.
  • Global Agenda's 12 Drops of Christmas: Complete each challenge to win a piece of seasonal head flair, and complete all 12 challenges through January 9, 2011 to earn the Abominable Snowman flair. Each challenge will be revealed before that specific event begins.
  • Vindictus' Holiday Events: The decorations are up in Colhen and snowballs are flying! Help stop the Glitches from stealing Christmas and score some awesome festive gear. Events are happening now through January 18, 2011.
  • EVE Online's Holiday Ship 2010: It's the season for giving, and the team at EVE Online has not forgotten how good it feels to give from the heart. This holiday season, players will be receiving the newest ship to roll off the production line: the Echelon. Log in to get your ship now through January 3, 2011.
  • Runes of Magic's Snowflake Festival: This year's festival boasts special daily tasks that give festive rewards. Also, players will have the chance to decorate their in-game houses and even grow a magnificent Christmas tree. Players can also purchase the Charity Wolf Mount to support Save the Children.
  • LEGO Universe's Frostivus: This year, player will be treated to the new limited edition Frostburgh zone. They can enter the wintery world to complete daily missions, collect candy canes, start snowball fights, build gingerbread homes, open presents, earn winter rewards, tame new Reindeer pets, and meet new NPCs. Join in on Frostivus now!
  • Fallen Earth's Holiday Apocalypse Challenge: Players can enter to win an awesome Fallen Earth PC gaming rig. Signing up is simple. Just head over to the official entry page and don't forget to log into the game every day between now and January 7, 2011 for even more chances to enter.
  • Wizard 101's Yuletide Festival: Felix Navidad is offering all sorts of holiday items in the Wizard City Shopping District, so bring him your Crowns. He'll be in the Spiral until the end of December. Players can also garden for a good cause by purchasing the Giving Tree seeds in the in-game Crown Shop for a limited time to benefit two Texas organizations devoted to helping children.

Forstfell mission for EQ was relatively gay. Like wise with the Halloween quest, but whatevs. Just an unhappy shopper, don't take my opinions to heart, go and enjoy them!

So far, WoW and CoH have been great. I haven't even touched my GuildWars yet. Gifts are good!
