World of Tanks won the “Best European Online Game” title at the European Games Award over the weekend. The competition in the category included EVE Online, Wakfu, Minecraft, Black Prophecy, Runes of Magic, Magicka, Stronghold Kingdoms and Mount & Blade: With Fire and Sword.

“It has been hard and rewarding to develop and publish World of Tanks and it adds merit to our work by winning this award,” said Wargaming.net CEO Victor Kislyi. “We want to thank the players for enjoying our game and the game industry for the recognition in our hard work.”

Wargaming.net, the developer of World of Tanks and the upcoming World of Warplanes, was the official headline sponsor of the European Games Award.
