Camelot XP Compatability Mode

This fix was sent to me for those having trouble running the game with Windows XP. I have not tried it personally (since I don't have XP), but I figured it might help. Just wanted to let you know so that you can post this. I am playing Dark Age of Camelot on Windows XP using a Nvidia Gforce 2 card running Nvidia's latest Detonator 4 (XP) driver. I was having problems with system re-start after quiting DAoC. I did as Mystic suggested rolling back the Nvidia drivers to the 12.41 from the XP drivers. In addition to this I am running the game in Windows 98/ME "compatability mode". Mystic at this time does not officially support Windows 2000 or XP. Windows XP has the ability to run older games in a "Compatability Mode". Essentially tricking the programs into thinking they are running on the older OS. Since doing this I have had no problems running the game. To select a program to run in compatability mode. Select the short-cut or .exe by right clicking and going to properties. Compatability mode is the 3rd tab over. Select the version you want to run in and click OK. Thats it. Hope this helps those having problems running "Dark Age of Camelot" on Windows XP. Peace, Caliburn.

I tried that with XP after DaoC released and it still crashed under compatibility mode. Stepping back to 12.41 drivers isn't an option with a GeForce 3 (unless you don't mind castrating the cards performance) so I wound up putting a Windows ME boot on the machine to play DaoC, and I use XP for everything else. Heres hoping that a driver update fixes this soon...

Maybe the computing ghods are being overly nice to me, but I have NO problem running DAoC on my nifty new XP Home version Machine. I didn't downgrade the drivers on my GEforce either. So, not sure what to tell you here. I have no lag, no real game tech issues at all.
