i see not one interesting, informative, or relevant post here (including mine).
the Rebellion will ultimately succeed, because Star Wars is heroic fiction, and good always wins in heroic fiction. that portion is hopefully immutable with regards to the game's future.
on the other hand, the Empire at this point in the story line is very strong, and is just now beginning to feel the reprecussions of its iron fist.
cracking down on (mostly rebel) spice and sliced item users is a strange thing for rebel players to rally behind, as drug-dealers and weapon-tinkering smugglers arent the nicest professions in the world.
in game terms, nearly every weapon and piece of armor everyone uses is sliced, and thats how the developers apparently decided to determine "dissention" to the empire.
i play a rebel character as well as an imperial character, and of the two, things will be much more different for my rebel. not that he'll stop using his sliced weapons, but he WILL be more careful about where he goes...unless i feel playful.
imperials now have a better reason to get more FP and declare, as it gives them "patrol jobs" and i think its pretty cool to be saluted by an NPC stormtrooper, personally.
in closing, all this "Rebs Rule" "No Rebs must Die" "no IMPs suck" crap is just moronic. that kind of pointless, grade-school level bragging belongs in-game for those adolescents who taunt their victims of LD kills and boast about their prowess of hitting buttons better than you or playing a video game longer and therefor having a stronger character.
one faction-aligned post per thread is enough, people..and even thats usually one too many. 15 such posts just make you look like idiots, as does insulting you like i am doing now =)
