Start Exploring Dragon's Prophet
New screenshots unveil two starting zones in this upcoming fantasy MMO.
If you’ve not heard of Dragon’s Prophet before, let me give you a reason to be excited. In this upcoming fantasy MMO from Runewaker, dragons are no longer the scaly, fire breathing piñatas stuffed with loot and experience points. Instead, you can capture, train and ride a dragon of your very own!
The Taiwanese developer, previously known for Runes of Magic, is working with MMO mega-publisher SoE in order to bring the dragon-riding adventure to Western markets. After announcing the agreement at SoE live last year, the team is finally ready to lift the curtain on two new starting zones.
Set in the mystical world of Auratia, Dragon’s Prophet promises to send us on an adventure through a high-fantasy landscape, with the goal of eventually becoming the titular prophet. On the way, we’ll be investigating the twisted corruption that infests the mystical land. And, while on this journey, we’ll be training and riding on the back of our own scaly, reptilian, bad-ass steed.
Every journey needs a starting point, and it’s the two zones of Bakra and Satuma that will mark the beginning of ours. After enlisting in the Osiran Army, we’ll have to choose one of these regions to call home for the next thirty levels.
It’s a difficult choice: Bakra is an island in Auratia’s central region, crammed full of wolf men, trolls, goblins and wild dragons. By comparison, Satuma is on a western plain surrounded by high mountains. Fishing villages feature highly in Satuma, nestled near to the many rivers and lakes found on the plain.
If you’d like to know more about either locale, head over to Dragon’s Prophet’s official site for some background and more images. If you’re eager to get into beta and grab the reins of a dragon yourself, signups are open now.
