Friday Feature 08.05.04/Recursive Macro Update

First the Friday Feature!
Today we have background information for three Hutt Fighters and two screen shots! This week's Friday Feature is centered around a treasure trove of Hutt space ship trivia. One of the neat things we are doing for Jump to Lightspeed is creating all new Hutt space ships. These new Hutt ships had to be approved by Lucasfilm and LucasArts and they are now part of the official Star Wars lexicon. Screen Shots! Hutt "Scyk" Hutt "Dunelizard" Hutt "Kimogila" Official Post
Now onto the status of the recursive macro removal!
We’ve been reading the previous thread (link back) and all of your feedback. Right off the top, I’d like to say that while this is In Development, it won’t be happening until some time after Publish 10 goes to live servers. We’ll be doing our best to address your concerns and here is where we’re at... There certainly are pros and cons to removing recursive macros from the game. Generally speaking, the positive side of the argument revolves around promoting a virtual world where players are playing active roles and are encouraged to play “at the keyboard”. The negatives are ultimately removing some of the gameplay solutions that players use to enjoy and enhance their game play. We have chosen to move the game to a state where players actually play the game, not simply run virtual robots by means of macros. At the same time, we want to ensure that we address those valid gameplay areas which are most impacted by the loss of recursive macros. So far, the most important gameplay considerations we feel need to be addressed so far are:
      • Streamlining the crafting process • Off-peak-hours availability of healers in Cantinas and Hospitals • Smugglers and Faction Points
The question on the table now is, “How should we make gameplay accommodations for these critical activities that will be affected by the removal of recursive macros?" We will follow up and post more details about the specific implementation and fixes in a few weeks. Kurt "Thunderheart" Stangl Community Relations Manager Official Post

The problem I have is that you have no clue at all what this article is about. If they know its an article that will be posted to many game sections, why not at least say which game its for?

Stop complaining...all of Alla's sights are linked by the 'News" page. Posts are on here not only for EQ/StarWarz/FFXI but also other games and related gaming topics.

u goto the ffxi board made by allakhazam rite? and i see another person complaing cus hes on eq alla...but you must remember this is one person(or several working as a teem) with many web sites so instead of complaining u should think. "hmm maybe this message goes out to all the boards allakhazam has" instead of "dude this is worng boards change it now!" you forget that they are nice enough to put up with people like you and bring u the most up to date info as possible. so maybe its a mistake induced by long hours and no sleep? or maybe its just something that goes to every one of allakhazams boards?

Now what exactly does this have to do with FFXI? This concerns Star Wars not FFXI!

Perhaps this should be moved. lol

When you run the site, do things as you see fit.

Since you don't run the site, deal with the fact that they like linking certain info to all the boards. Sorry YOUR page was tainted by info you don't feel belongs.

FYI: Most of us gamers play more than one game and like seeing what's going on in other games.

Says who? I know very few people who play multiple MMORPGs. Several have tried various others, but it never lasts longer than a few months.

And even if your unsupported assertion turns out to beat mine, it makes little sense to put an SWG article with on an EQ site. Many people who play EQ also play Doom, Far Cry, Angban(sp), Tradwars, Civilization and countless other games, but that doesn't make news on those games relevant on a site dedicated to all things Everquest.
