Many players have reported errors with the error: "No 3D Devices Found!". Mr. Griffin reported earlier today about the process of solving this...
If you are getting no 3d device found check and make sure you are using Directx8.1 not directx8.0, you can download DirectX8.1 at
http://www.microsoft.com/directx/
If you are still getting the message right click on My Computer, select Properties then Performance, click on the button for graphics and make sure that the slider is set to full acceleration.
For 2000 and most likely XP users, this is how to change the graphics acceleration setting:
Right-click desktop, choose Properties
Choose Settings tab.
Advanced button.
Troubleshooting tab.
Also I have been told that DirectX 8 has a bug in it where Direct 3D Acceleration is listed as Enabled when it is really Disabled. This is a leading cause of the "No 3D devices found"...
Open up DxDiag and click on the display tab. Click once on the disable button for Direct3D acceleration. If Direct3D Acceleration is still listed as Enabled then this should have fixed your problem. If it is now listed as Disabled then we need to look at other issues.
