- The Triple SC sale scheduled for the 21st actually began on the afternoon of the 20th.
- There are new Musical Blocks available in the Marketplace. They come in 8 different notes, separately or as a bundle with 1 of each note, and are either piano notes or fart sounds.
- A new Seasonal Mystery Chest theme will only be available while the Snow Days event is running. As with the previous versions of the chest, look for the minigame of the day to win the chest, then buy a Mystery Key with SC to open it.
- Adjustments have been made to the Banking system, in regards to both size and cost.
- SOE is running a 12 Days of Holidays event in all of their games. In Free Realms, this means 12 days of sale items in the Market and the new 12 Days of Presents questline.
- The sale items: Basic Swimming Pool, Blackspore Swamp House, Crop Duster, Realms Roll Boombox, Robgoblin Mech, Rocket Ship, Seaside Cafe, Rainbow Randomizer Boombox, Triple SC, Striped Robgoblin Mech, Sunstone Dam, and on day 12 it was both the Yo-Yo and Free Realms Digital Booster Pack.
- The first of the PlayerStudio items have arrived in the Market: Happy Heart T-Shirt and Swirly Railed Gazebo. Purchase of either of these items earns their player-creators a percentage of each sale.
- More Snow Days items have returned to the Marketplace and Coin Shop.
- A new card has been added to the TCG tournament rewards for a limited time during Snow Days: The Abominable Snowman.
- The 3rd limited edition poster, Ghostshadow, is now available as a TCG tournament reward.
- The December member's pack was distributed to each character on Dec. 1st.
- The Tie-Dye T-Shirt from last month's pack is now in the Marketplace.
- A storage system has been introduced to the Realms! Each character received 25 free slots and upgrades are available for coins and SC. Visit the new Banker NPCs in Sanctuary, Seaside, and Snowhill.
- Snow Days has returned to brighten our winter!
- Cragara, the merchant snail, has officially opened her shop! Most of her items are either specially priced or specially colored. She appears on different servers, at different locations, offering different items, for a certain length of time and then disappears for a while.
- The plant sample bug has been fixed, so you can now get back to collecting for your farm.
- All of the Tacky Sweaters are now tradeable!
- The prices have been reduced on the Builder Packs in the Market, but at the expense of the individual blocks being removed. This has caused many to complain.
- Housing Lot Bundles have been added. It includes a lot plus building materials, and different items come with the different lots.
- The Holiday Pass membership sale offers 3 months of membership plus a bonus Argyle Holiday Sweater for $9.99. This offer runs until Jan. 4, 2013.
- The sweater is available in the Marketplace, for those that don't want to purchase the Holiday Pass.
During the 4-day Thanksgiving weekend, each character received a free outfit. There were also Marketplace sale items each day.
- Day 1 item: Plaid Sneakers. Sale: Dwarftech Chopper, Forged Weapon Recipe Bundle, Heroes Booster Bundle, Robgoblin Mech, Striped Robgoblin Mech, and Treasure War Booster Pack.
- Day 2 item: Beanie Cap. Sale: Baron Von Darkcheat Booster Bundle, Forged Weapon Recipe Bundle, Sunstone Dam Lot, Sunstone Environment Bundle, and Treasure War Booster Pack.
- Day 3 item: Hoodie Plaid Jacket. Sale: Feathered Drake ride, Forged Weapon Recipe Bundle, Shattered Past Booster Bundle, and Treasure War Booster Pack.
- Day 4 item: Torn Skinny Jeans. Sale: Cactus Club, Forged Weapon Recipe Bundle, Free Realms Digital Booster Bundle, Treasure War Booster Pack, and Yo-Yo.
- The Turkey Hat and Turkey Outfit have returned to the Marketplace.
- There's a new ride: a Giant Turkey!
- Cragara is now in-game, but she's too tired from her trip to begin selling yet. She's in Blackspore, if you'd like to visit her. She has her own icon on the game atlas.
- The limited edition tournament reward has been changed to the 2nd poster: Magetech.
- Double SC on Black Friday! Purchase online or redeem a pre-paid SC card on Nov. 23rd for double the amount. More details here.
- Spooktacular has been removed for another year.
- There's a 'Double SC Weekend on cards bought at US 7-11s and redeemed Nov. 16-18. See our story for more details.
- All parachutes have been removed from the Marketplace.
- Get your grass skirt on and hula along with the new Tiki Boombox.
- The TCG tournament has added a limited-time reward that is redeemable for a Wildclaw Poster housing item.
- A TCG update brought text changes to 4 cards.
- As of November 1st, the monthly TCG booster pack that members receive will be Series 4, Heroes.
- The November member's pack was given out.
- Last month's member's pack t-shirt is now available in the Marketplace.
- Where's Waldo? He's in Free Realms! A Waldo hat and shirt have been added, along with Waldo-striped wallpaper.
The new
Pogostick ride allows you to jump higher than any other ride in the game.
- The Triple SC event, originally scheduled for October 31st, has been rescheduled for November 4th. This is so anyone affected by Hurricane Sandy will have the opportunity to take advantage of it.
- A number of new building items were added to housing: builder's packs (in several sizes), windows, and doors. All available in each of the block styles (brick, wood, etc).
- A search feature has been added to the player's inventory.
- Mining clothes now come from the mining nodes, in all 22 current colors. The level received is tiered with the node level.
- There was a TCG update also:
- The Top Duelist Leaderboard now correctly shows W/L and rating.
- The text was changed on 2 cards and a bug fixed on 1.
- Spooktacular has returned for 2012! It is set to run until November 15th.
- A new holiday TCG bundle has been added to the Marketplace. It includes 2 Series 3 booster packs, 2 Series 4 booster packs, and 1 Pumpkin Prince TCG card.
- There were also various bugs fixed.
- Purchasing a Station Cash card from Walmart and redeeming it between Oct. 12th and 14th will get you double SC! This includes the bonus amounts as well, so a $15 card with $5 bonus will get you $40. See our story for more details.
- This hotfix was mostly about exterminating pests, both in the game and in TCG:
- Pets will now be able to find treasure in Sunstone Valley.
- Dukey the Dog, Fairy Boy, and Jack-O-Lantern summoning bugs have been fixed.
- Players will now stay on their mounts when entering a housing lot.
- During the Robot Woes quest, the Robgoblon Junk Thief will now attack players at the scrapsmith anvil.
- When getting components from bosses, they will now drop in much larger quantities (excluding the Robgoblin Flux Kajigger).
- Fixes to 9 different TCG cards and text changed on 1 of them.
- Some of the Spooktacular items have returned to the Marketplace.
- There's a new boombox based on the Gangnam Style dance.
- Combat traits are now available at levels 4, 8, 12, and 16. This is instead of the previous 5, 10, 15, and 20.
- Overworld boss mobs are now rewarding 1 of 5 items: coins, a wearable, a combat consumable, a cosmetic consumable, and something for Blacksmith (either a component or a recipe).
- Beginning October 8th, the TCG Tournaments will now be 2 hours long instead of 3. There were also changes made to how the tournaments are scored, so that it's no longer possible to have ties.
- The monthly member's pack has been distributed.
- Last month's Rainbow T-Shirt is now in the Marketplace.
- During the entire month of October, if you redeem a $10 Station Cash card from Walmart, you'll receive a Walmart t-shirt. The shirt is only redeemable once per account. You can read the story here.
- Chatty's relative, the Striped Treeble, is available in the Marketplace.
- The Yo-Yo and Cactus Club are now, correctly, non-tradeable.
- Overworld non-boss mobs have had their blacksmith component drop rates increased.
- Sunstone Valley has arrived! There are many new characters to meet, areas to explore, quests to do, collections to complete, items to find (from drops) and purchase... so get in-game already!
- There's lots of stuff in the Marketplace, related to Sunstone Valley: Archer's Forged Bow of Advantage Recipe, Barrel Cactus, Beavertail Cactus, Blue Agave, Brawler's Forged Hammer of Challenge Recipe, Cactus Club, Coyote, Dead Savanna Tree, Dwarftech Chopper, Feathered Drake (ride), Feathered Drake (pet), Forged Weapon Recipe Bundle, Freewheelers Bed, Freewheelers Chair, Freewheelers Couch, Freewheelers Furniture Bundle, Freewheelers Lamp, Freewheelers Table, Freewheelers Wall Trophy, Medic's Forged Saw of Promise Recipe, Ninja's Forged Sword of Purge Recipe, Pink Agave, Robgoblin Flux Kajigger, Robgoblin Mech, Saguaro Cactus, Savanna Tree, Striped Robgoblin Mech, Sunstone Boulders, Sunstone Dam, Sunstone Environment Bundle, Sunstone Rock Bridge, Vulture, Warrior's Forged Axe of Boon Recipe, Wizard's Forged Wand of Cunning Recipe, and Yo-Yo.
- A Road Runner has been added to the Coin Shop pet pals.
- According to Nik-Nak, on the official forums: each character now has a brief time of invulnerability upon entering the game. this was added "to prevent players from being KO'd before having a chance to act after logging in. It was something we learned from the Gloam Invasion."
- Along with the new content came a number of bugs that had to be stomped:
- The new housing lot can now be previewed properly.
- Clicking the top portion of the Shrouded Glade icon no longer brings up the Sunstone Valley atlas.
- Sunstone Silver Veins should be accessible in all spawn locations now.
- If a player mounts a ride while in a combat stance, the ride will now show the correct animation.
- The Abandoned Mine Exploration Coin is now accessible.
- NPCs will now show knockout animations when performing combat.
- Some spots where players were getting stuck in the terrain have been fixed.
- Water levels have been fixed where flooding was prone.
- Quest and encounter fixes: A Deal with a Dust Devil, Sobering Himecoming, Friend or Foe, Saving a Friend, House Cleaning, and Precursor Ruin.
- The Skullz Roughriders no longer overlap spawns.
- A hotfix corrected some minor bugs.
- Good news and bad news:
- The good news -- we have a new Producer! His name is Clint Worley.
- The bad news -- we found this out when he made the announcement that Sunstone Valley will be delayed "a tad longer."
- Any SC cards purchased at EB Games or Game Stop stores, and claimed between September 14th and 16th, will be doubled. See our story for more details.
- There was a hotfix to correct some problems with the Gloam battles.
- Amnerys posted the following update notes:
- Free Realms now has Social Share! Players can share screenshots to Facebook and/or Twitter directly from the screenshot tool. Note: This functionality is not available to players under 13.
- TCG Multipack Multipack fix -- players will now be able to purchase multiple TCG Booster 25-packs.
- Farming dead spots fix -- players can now move items on their farms without "phantom" dead spots.
- Guild server crash fix -- this will address an issue with Live, where the guild server was crashing.
- Floyd Bishop hosted a webcast about Sunstone Valley. It's scheduled to be released during the first half of September. Take a look at it on Twitch.
- There was a TCG update, changing the text on 4 cards, and fixing a number of bugs.
- This month's member's pack contains a Rainbow T-Shirt and 10,000 .
- Last month's Awkto T-Shirt is now available in the Marketplace.
- There will be a Double SC Sale during the Labor Day weekend, August 31st to September 3rd. All purchase methods are included, except SMS.
- TCG Booster Packs for Series 1, 2, and 3 are also on sale for the holiday weekend, for 199 .
- Series 4 of the TCG has been released, called Heroes. Take a look at the webcast and news story, for more details.
- With this release, all of the TCG series quests are now free to play! You no longer have to purchase the quest packs from the Marketplace. Unfortunately, this has some of the players complaining about all the money they had to spend to get the Shattered Past and Baron Von Darkcheat questlines, and wondering if there will be some type of compensation.
- The 3rd set of Mystery Chests have arrived! This set includes Clockwork items: outfit pieces, 2 rides, a boombox, and a pet monkey. You can watch the Super Secret Stuff video for more details.
- There have been some terrific new improvements and additions to housing:
- The UI has been changed and new features added, all of which are located on the Housing Options screen.
- The Snap to Grid size has been quartered for easier item placement.
- There's a Free Camera option, which detaches the camera from the player while in decorate mode.
- An option to Hide Flora has been added. Which means that everyone that visits your place will see it the same way, regardless of their personal settings. Each lot/house can be set individually.
- You can now pick up all items at once, with confirmation.
- You can turn off the auto-spawn of pets now. The Hide Pets feature is set for every lot/house you own. It does not affect summoned pets.
- There are 5 new block textures: Brick, Cobblestone, Toy, Marble, and Wood.
- There's also 8 new block shapes: Cube, Floor, Pillar, Ramp, Small Floor, Small Pillar, Small Wall, Wall, and Wedge.
- Most everything in the Marketplace will be 30% off during the weekend of August 10-12.
- More improvements to the trading system: there's now a trade confirmation and a time delay before acceptance.
- Other minor improvements were included in this hotfix.
- Chat has returned to the TCG. There were also changes made to the text on 3 of the cards and bugs fixed with card flips.
- The 8-item limit has been removed from the trading system, along with other minor changes.
- From July 18th to the 23rd, SOE is having a sale on membership packages. You'll receive 25% off the price, if you purchase a membership upgrade.
- As of July 20th, SOE will no longer sell Station Cash cards in Europe. If you have already purchased them, you'll have until July 23rd to claim them.
- On July 10th, Chief Referee Scarlet posted a letter on the forums about Responsible Trading. You can read it here.
- Jason Maskface made his return on Friday the 13th. This time, he made his mask available to purchase in the Marketplace while he was here.
- The July 2012 Member's Pack has been distributed. It includes a Wireless T-Shirt and 10,000 .
- The Smiley Face T-Shirt, given out in last month's member's pack, is now available in the Marketplace.
- Bugs in the Gloam battles have been fixed.
- The special offers that Amnerys mentioned last month should be starting to appear.
- There will be a Double SC Sale on July 4th.
