Beading  

In Tabula Rasa, crouching while firing (to take a bead on your target) is commonly referred to as "beading".

Beading increases the amount of damage you take unless you are crouched behind something, partly obscuring you as a target. It does, however, have several advantages:

• Scatter weapons, such as chainguns, gain accuracy.
• Rifles gain accuracy and a Critical Hit bonus.
