I'll not pretend to understand my brethren's choice to leave the shelter of Athel Loren's boughs in order to make their homes in the mountains and foothills surrounding the forest. Overview

Giant birds of prey large enough to carry a fully-grown Wood Elf into battle upon their backs, warhawks are a valuable asset to the denizens of Athel Loren. The huge birds are effective scouts and effective combatants as they use their talons and hooked beaks to tear chunks of flesh from any who seek to do harm to the forest.

Lore

While the warhawks are most comfortable in the open skies above their mountain homes, they' re more than capable of navigating the maze of interlocked branches that forms the canopy above Athel Loren. Movement under cover of the forest is no proof against the claws of a Warhawk.
