Walkthrough
After reaching Rank 42 & getting the distress message on your NPC linkpearl, Head to the merchants ward in Ul'Dah. (or you can just head into the Merchants Ward once you're rank 42). Speak with Tataru.
Lady Minfilia: "While we do not know who sent the message, we were able to estimate the general location from which it originated─an area of the Black Shroud, due east of Gridania. We already have several advance parties scouring the forest, and I was hoping that you might join them."
Head to Camp Nine Ivies to meet up with your Path Companion.
From there you will head into a instance. Follow your path Companion. There was no mobs on this path. you will end up at the location (50,22) where the distress caller is being attacked by 2 Bloodhounds. EASY fight as a 45 Archer, but kill quick because i didn't see my Path Companion toss the other NPC any heals.
Once you defeat the Bloodhounds your Path Companion will escort the wounded back and asks you to meet back at the Merchants Ward. Head back and speak with Tataru for your reward.
