- Ability cards are used in conjunction with your Avatar to complete quests and perform certain actions.
- Abilities are used at quests to add level tokens to that quest. When you add enough level tokens to the selected quest, you complete that quest.
- Abilities can also be used to add their Defense Strength to an Avatar's defense during the combat phase. The ability cannot be used to place level tokens at the next quest phase if used in this way.
Ability cards can either be class-specific (usable only by the class indicated on the card) or general (usable by any class avatar) and will be classified as either Light, Shadow or Neutral faction.
- Playing cards of a certain faction will move your Faction Meter to favor that faction which can, in turn, initiate different card effects. This is explained in more detail on the Faction Meter page.
Light Ability | Neutral Ability | Shadow Ability |
- Light cards are represented with the color white, Neutral cards are represented with the color peach, and Shadow cards are represented with the color black.
- Some ability cards are classified by what Avatar class can use that ability, but remain neutral in faction.
- Class-Specific abilities are signified by an icon in the upper right corner of the card.
Neutral Fighter Ability | Neutral Priest Ability | Neutral Mage Ability | Neutral Scout Ability |
- Likewise, class-specific cards can also be of either Light or Dark faction.
Light Mage Ability | Shadow Mage Ability |
- As pictured here, the icon, power cost and text area are colored the corresponding Light or Shadow faction color on these cards, indicating that although they are Mage-only abilities, they also carry either Light or Shadow faction.
A listing of all Ability cards can be found here.
