It is the intention of this function to be usable on ANY catalog page and it will know what page it is on and what templates to call or links to create for that category. This is rather ambitious and I am not sure it can actually be done.

At least initially, I am going to try to make this work with NO additional parameters, but it is unlikely I can make that work in the long run.
