I can see it. The organizers probably get a deal if the book next year by the end the event, or possibly if the book several years at one time. And Vegas' reputation for being an adult playground is well deserved. Even if you're not looking to get crazy, there are a lot entertainment options and they seem to keep the strip pretty well controlled.

I'd agree that moving it around would be nice, but you want to put it someplace you can maximize the draw from all over the country as well as look at the economics. Vegas markets VERY aggressively to conventions so you can get hotel deals, air fares to Vegas are probably among the lowest compared to other cities because so many people go there, and its someplace a lot of people fantasize about going to.

What are the east coast alternaties? NYC, Philly, DC, Atlanta... For me, Philly and DC would be local, NYC an overnight, but if I had to travel, I'd rather go to Vegas.
