Category: Unknown To Start: Kill a shadowed creature that randomly spawns in some locations and examine the hide that drops.
To begin this series, travel to any zone and killed a shadowed creature. It will drop A Strangely Marked Hide which when inspected will start the first quest. Reported locations include Common Lands, Antonica, Nektulous Forest, Great Divide and a few others. Check out this thread for some suggestions. We encountered a shadowy krait in Great Divide, which dropped the quest starter in a chest.
HINT: The mob you're looking for will be "a shadowy (whatever)" Could be a shadowy Krait, a shadowy Deer, a shadowy Wolf... etc. If you have the ability to track or a tracking scroll this should make things easier when searching your zone of choice for the quest starter.
I've come across some strange creatures within the wilds of Norrath. They seem more aggressive, dark... possessed by something. They were branded with a mark I'm not familiar with - if there's a new player in Norrath, I should probably try to figure out what it means. Grim Stormshield is the greatest hunter in Norrath, he may know what it is, or know how I can find out. He was last seen in Jarsath Wastes, hunting great beasts.
Use the druid ring or world bell and head to Jarsath Wastes.
Lower level players without Danak faction should avoid using the world bell, the guards there are nasty.
Speak to Grim Stormshield at -1415, 235, 96 to complete the quest.
