These knucks are gorgeous, besides Relic and Destroyers these are the best knucks, Indra Katars or w.e or ok... id like to try them when we get drop from Steam Cleaner, but ever since Vishnu Cesti ive been using them, i never really knew much aboout latent but friend told me to buy a pair and they were cheap so i couldnt complain. i have lots of friends that wat to get me destroyers soon so hopefully i can toss these and get sum 7% crit rate going (merit 1)
I always wondered why these things were so cheap...
Delay +60
Less Than 100%TP ~ And For WS +14Attack, +5Accuracy, +18DMG
More Than 100%TP +0Attack, +0Accuracy, +13DMG
This weapon is extremely nice for "TP Spam" parties where you don't save TP waiting for someone else. In spam parties you pretty much get the full deal nearly 100% of the time.
A quick note: This weapon has been argued in the past to be a +17DMG weapon while under 100%TP. It does do less damage than a +18 weapon should do "sometimes". But the weapon itself is in fact a +18DMG weapon when under 100%TP. The loss of damage capability comes from the idea that fSTR is based from the +13DMG Rating and not the +18DMG rating regardless of your TP%.
fSTR = ~Aprox. (Your STR - Monster VIT)/4 + 2 fSTR caps at (DMG / 9) + 8 Note: fSTR is an integer... toss the decimal
Since I don't want to pull some magic STR or VIT numbers out of thin air... I'll just use the fSTR cap meaning this math reflects the idea of fighting against a very too weak. This would be the maximum possible fSTR value even if you had a million more STR than the monster had VIT.
First I'll do the math for when Wagh's are over 100%TP (DMG: +13)
28DMG Rating from Skill + 13DMG Rating from the weapon = 41Total_DMG_Rating
Looking at the fSTR math above, DMG41 gets an fSTR of 12.
(41DMG + 12fSTR) * 3 53 * 3 = 159 Max Critical hit. Bingo it checks out with the observed in-game actual performance.
Now for the fun part of this weapon, when it's under 100%TP (DMG: +18)
We know we had a DMG 28 Base Rating... and we know this weapon is DMG +18 when less than 100%TP
28DMG from skill + 18DMG from the weapon = 46Total_DMG_Rating
Now looking at the fSTR math above, 46DMG Rating gets an fSTR of 13
(46 + 13) * 3 59 * 3 = 177 Max Critical hit.
What in the!? It doesn't check out with in-game performance at 261 Skill against too weaks! Why? Because as suggested, this weapon is pulling fSTR from it's lower damage rating. Which means fSTR is being based on the weapon being a DMG41 weapon.
So a DMG 46 weapon using a DMG41's fSTR of 12...
(46DMG + 12) * 3 58 * 3 = 174 Max Critical hit. Bingo it checks out with the observed in-game actual performance.
So yes, Wagh's have a +18DMG rating when under 100%TP... but! 100% of the time Wagh's fSTR is based on the +13DMG Rating which means it's possible to crit for 3 less than you'd expect depending on how fSTR scales with your current H2H Skill.
Just read all the posts and it still seems to me that this is the lazy monks attempt at the Destroyers. All i ever hear is "boofuknhoo why does it have to be 500..." well since you do about 100+ sc's in a good pty then it should really be done in 1-3 ptys. Monk ptys i am sure you can finish the chain with dragon kick or at the very least get several more ws's during the ptys duration. But otherwise it looks cool, but imo and i am sure many other ppls it is just as i said, a less than perfect copy.
P.S. Everyone who is with me on this rate up cuz i am sure that those opposing will rate down....lets try to keep me in the green, lol
The latent effect on the Maneater Axe (it's latent is activated the same way and drops from the same ENM) is DMG 49 ATT+18 and ACC+5, any idea whether these claws give you any +ACC as well? :o
Another thing to say to people who might be confused..you DO get the latent effect with a weaponskill, that is to say, the +14ATT is active when you WS.
Actually, there is no hidden effect on attack +14. . . you get that attack from just equipping a weapon.
Try it, equip a weapon and see your attack automatically raise (a weapon without an +attack bonus).
Actually, since you seem to not be a MNK allow me to explain. Equipping a Hand-to-Hand weapon on MNK is different than equipping, let's say, a Scythe on a DRK. Attack doesn't go up when equip a Hand-to-Hand weapon for MNKs.

The latent effect IS activated when you are under 100% tp. So under 100%tp you are +18dmg +60 delay, over 100% you are +13dmg +60 delay. these weapons also have a hidden effect of +14 attack. the attack is in with the latent effect. I bought a pair of these and i love them. but i only use them when i am spamming weapon skills. you dont want to stay over 100% tp for to long while waiting for your sc partner to catch up
