You're well on your way to having your first flying mount! Now it's time to train it.
Use the Stormfeather's Pride Griffawn Feather to summon a griffawn pet. Hail the pet and choose one of the training options to begin a quest. You can choose a different quest every 18 hours in any order you wish, but each quest may only be done one time. Once all five quests are completed, you will have your gryphon mount! After completing each griffawn pet quest:
If you have not done all the side-quests yet: in 18 hours you can pick another training lesson for your griffawn!
If this is your final side-quest: Congratulations! Hail your griffawn pet and you will receive another "Quest Complete!" box where you can pick your new gryphon mount, as well as receive some more experience and money. Choose from: Snow Gryphon, Highland Gryphon or Tundra Gryphon.
To get to the Flying Mount series you must first do Aggi Stonefist's quests in Thurgadin. You can bypass all other content and just start here if you like.

These instructions only work in zones where flying is enabled!
To launch into the air on your mount, use the "Move Up" hotkey. This is generally defaulted to the "Home" key on your keyboard, but some key mappings may have it as the spacebar or no hotkey at all. If you need to modify or set this hotkey, it is found in Options -> Commands -> Movement Commands.
Once you are in the air, you can move with the arrow keys, wasd or mouse, just as you would on the ground. The biggest difference is that you can move up and down as well, which may make mouse movement the most optimal for controlling your mount. If you angle straight down at the ground your gryphon will do a dive-bomb animation, which is pretty neat to check out!Another way to launch into flight is by jumping off of a cliff. That may sound crazy, but it works. You will fall for a short distance before your gryphon will suddenly come to a halt and begins flying.
Your gryphon will land as soon as its feet touch the ground.
Some other things of note:
