Introduction

Runes of Magic is a fantasy MMORPG, in which words can create, but also destroy. Here you can explore and discover a magical world full of wonders and ancient riddles. Encounter arcane and dangerous creatures and solve the mystery of a long-perished kingdom.

On your long journey from a helpless novice to a proud hero you will always be accompanied by magical runes and potent oracles - fragments of the divine book Taborea. Legend has it, that he, who embraces the oracle and acquires its might, will garner absolute power over the future.

Choose from a flexible class system with six main classes and 36 combinations. There are two different playable races, Elves and Humans, from which players can choose. Each dual class combination produces its own powerful elite skills. In addition you have access to a dynamic item and rune system, as well as three gathering and eight crafting professions. Obtain your own house, which you can proudly show your friends and others. Fight against powerful monsters and obtain magnificent treasures and glorious titles. Story

At the dawn of time the mighty god Ayvenas created the book Taborea, where he captured the shape of the world: When he thought about plants endless fields of mellow grass and dimly lit forests of gigantic trees almost reaching the sky assumed a definite form. When he wished for a magnificent firmament, the bright blue sky and the starry canopy were born. Despite the world's beauty though, he felt lonely. Therefore out of the fertile soil he created the first human beings.

But they were weak: minor incidents caused grave injuries; if they fell ill certain death loomed large. But god appeared before man and gave him various skills and characteristics. Those who shared the same strength, those whose hearts and minds resembled each other, joined forces and formed the first peoples of the world. They lived by their own freewill and prospered. Ayvenas was joyful and satisfied. But one day he wondered, what might happen if hate and malice spread among them and the great unity broke to pieces?

While he was pondering that question, his dark thoughts were channeled into the book Taborea.

After he taught the peoples to use their strength to attain everything they were entitled to, some began farming and hunting. Others began to stealing and looting. Ayvenas also taught them to combine their powers in the face of danger, which let to harmonic everyday life of homogeneous people, but men suddenly quarreled and wars erupted. Ayvena realized in terror, that he had lost control over Taborea. Unable to do anything he tore apart all future chapters of the book and scattered its remnants into the world. Now it was up to the peoples themselves to face up to this legacy and to take the future into their own hands...
