This is the starting zone for all Guardians, and takes place approximately 20 years before the rest of the game. You are a new Ascended, freshly resurrected by the Vigil for the first time. You must discover if you possess the strength to serve.

Many of the NPCs you meet here, even the minor ones that offer no quests, you will see again later. Even Alsbeth Rothmann, later known as Alsbeth the Discordant, is here.

Patch 2.1 Hotfix #4: Streamlined quest flow to get new characters into Silverwood more quickly. We have not re-run this series to update the page for the changes.

• Mathosian Inquisition (3) - Pray at the Altar of Thedeor and use the Shield on 6 Deathbound Thralls
• Dwarven Inquisition (3) - Pray at the Altar of Bahralt and use the Hammer on 6 Deathbound Thralls
3. Uncivil War (3) - Speak with Brother Jebiah at the Adenburgh Gate

• Principles of War (5) - (Mage) Speak with Brael Worthon.
• Fields Run Red (5) - Kill 3 Deathbound Rogues, 3 Deathbound Soldiers, and 3 Deathbound Sorcerers
2. Next
• The Pariah (5) - Disable Orphiel's Corruptor
• Rightful Owners (5) - Collect 6 Mathosian Remains from Carrion Flayers
3. Next
• Gathering Strength (6) - Cleanse a Shadetouched Horse and ride it back to Valor Hold
• Shot in the Back (6) - Launch a Catapult, then another, and destroy Necromancers
4. A Dim, Dark Eye (6) - Disable the Rift pillars and reveal Aedraxis

With the destruction of King Aedraxis, thus ends the introductory Quest Series.
